I created SWTliving to inspire cultural travel through photography and my personal experiences. My aim is to provide you, the reader, with:
- inspiration to unique and off-the-beaten path destinations & experiences,
- travel guides, such as day-to-day itineraries and travel tips, to help you plan your trip, and
- to show you that it is possible to take short trips and still experience so much!
I’ve always had an urge to travel, a certain wanderlust, but never really thought about capturing the places I visited. My inspiration for travel photography began when I purchased my very first DSLR camera and prepared for my upcoming journey to Ethiopia. I was born in the United States as the daughter to Ethiopians, but up until this moment, I never had the opportunity to visit my ancestral lands. And so, I set on an adventure to explore Ethiopia.
There, I saw beauty I’d never experienced before, so I began capturing unforgettable moments. My friends and family were delighted with the photographs and were curious to find out what I discovered. That is how my travel photography journey began.
I’m currently living and working in France. I am always dreaming of where my next trips will be, and finding ways to maximize my travel such as using public holidays and going away for a long weekend.
